π The future of STEM was on full display at the recent Mentor Assistance Program (MAP) Symposium hosted at SDSC! π π‘This year, 47 talented high school students from across San Diego County presented research projects spanning fields from medicine and engineering to computer science and physics.π‘ πOver the course of the eight-month MAP program, students were paired with mentors from across UC San Diego, gaining hands-on experience, research skills and insight into potential STEM careers. The symposium allowed these students to showcase their work through lightning talks and poster presentations in front of peers, mentors, families and community members. π πPrograms like MAP are helping inspire and empower the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators β and the passion, curiosity and professionalism these students demonstrated were truly impressive. π π Huge congratulations to all of the students, mentors and organizers who made this yearβs symposium such a success! π
