Recently, after joining MCB Bank (Head office), I noticed an interesting trend across several departments: the workforce is largely made up of Millennials, while representation from Gen Z appears quite limited. This made me reflect on an important question is Gen Z not getting enough opportunities in the banking sector, or is it that many from this generation prefer frequent career switches and dynamic environments that may feel different from traditional banking culture? Banks offer structured growth, stability, and strong professional foundations, while Gen Z often seeks flexibility, innovation, and rapid learning opportunities.
