I love Hillary Mantel's Wolf Hall series. Thomas Cromwell, the protagonist, makes translating the English Bible one of his life's works. I can't help but see parallels between the priests of old who used to preach in Latin to their English congregation and modern developers writing in a language incomprehensible to others (code). LLMs take the esoteric language that used to be guarded behind years of study (much like Latin) and make it accessible to the masses (me).
