The most impactful moments of leadership often happen in the smallest interactions. At summer camp, that might look like welcoming a child who feels out of place, taking time to listen, or helping someone feel like they belong. For many campers, summer camp is a new and unfamiliar environment. The relationships built there can shape confidence, foster community, and create lasting memories. That's why authenticity matters. Campers don't need perfect role models; they need caring mentors who are willing to be present, encourage them, and show them they are valued. As Lt.
