High-performing salespeople do not need to be “collared.” ✅️ They need direction. ✅️ They need resources. ✅️ They need accountability. ❌️ But they do not need to be micromanaged into mediocrity. One of the biggest mistakes sales leaders make is managing top salespeople the same way they manage everyone else. Experienced, high-Drive salespeople usually perform best when they have room to move. Give them clear expectations. Give them the tools they need. Remove unnecessary friction. Then coach them without burying them in long meetings. For many top performers, mentorship beats management.
