Software Engineering at University of Calgary

Capstone wrapped up last week. I still can’t believe it’s over. After two long semesters and countless late nights, I’m so proud to say my team, Let’s Ride Canada, finished with a silver medal 🥈 at this year’s Engineering Capstone Fair. Over the past 8 months, it has been an amazing experience working with my team on the Let’s Ride Canada app, a specialty vehicle marketplace designed to help dealerships sell unsold inventory on their lots. What made this journey even better was the incredible team I had the opportunity to work with. It was such a great experience working with these amazing people: Arsalan Baig, Siddhartha Paudel, Saim Khalid, and Shahdeen Rahman. I also want to thank everyone else who helped along the way. There were a lot of setbacks and a lot of moments where things broke, but that’s what made it worth it. A huge shoutout to my team for pushing through This achievement reflects that and each memeber should be proud of themself. As the Software Lead on this project, this award is especially meaningful because it reflects the role I played in shaping and building the solution from the ground up. I led the architecture and design of the app while also being deeply involved in implementing it, working across the frontend, backend and database, to bring everything together. From building the foundations of the code to helping deliver the core features of the app, the hours spent debugging, refining the system, supporting teammates and handling countless other tasks are what make this recognition especially rewarding. A huge thank you to Dr. Gouri Ginde and Mr. Afif Al Mamun for their incredible support and valuable feedback throughout the project. I also want to thank our sponsor, Shift Happens Auto Sales, for entrusting us with this opportunity. An incredible way to close out this chapter and step into what’s next.
