If a production failure cannot be recreated, can you truly trust the fix? In distributed systems, failures rarely happen in isolation. They emerge from timing, retries, and network behaviour, making Heisenbugs difficult to observe, reproduce, and fully understand. At Sahaj Software’s recent Devday in Hyderabad, we explored how to bring more clarity to these challenges. Key insights from the session: 🎯 Failures are often interaction-driven, not isolated 🎯 Reproducibility is key to understanding system behaviour 🎯 Deterministic simulation enables replaying real-world incidents 🎯 Controlled experimentation improves confidence in fixes With a hands-on approach, the session moved beyond theory into practical exploration, sparking thoughtful questions and strong discussions throughout. Thank you to all the attendees for making the session engaging and interactive with your questions and perspectives. And a special thanks to Kalarani Lakshmanan for leading a practical and technically grounded deep dive into reproducible failure testing. Devday is a tech community event hosted to foster tech conversations, idea exchanges, and deep-dives in cutting-edge tech. #Devday #SahajSoftware #DistributedSystems #Microservices #SoftwareEngineering #HyderabadTech #HyderabadEvents
