After an amazing year at Unilever , I’m pleased to share that I have officially completed my Year in Industry placement within the Global People Communications team. Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, gain invaluable experience in internal communications, and develop professionally within such a fast-paced global organisation. Some of my key highlights include: 💙 Creating and managing our global newsletter, sent bi-weekly to employees worldwide, with some editions reaching over 60,000 views. 💙 Attending the Growth Leaders Forum in October alongside the top 140 employees across the business. 💙 Managing site communications for the 100VE office, collaborating with multiple senior stakeholders to ensure smooth and effective communication. 💙 Supporting the setup and delivery of our quarterly results town halls. 💙 Working across teams to source and coordinate content for global channels. This experience has significantly developed my confidence, both professionally and personally. Over the past year, I’ve strengthened my skills in stakeholder engagement, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration, while also gaining valuable insight into how a global organisation operates in an ever-evolving environment. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who supported me throughout this journey - especially my line manager, Issabella Stening, and the entire Global People Communications team. I’m now excited to return to the University of Leeds this September to complete the final year of my Business Management BA degree, and I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next!
