Reducing NOx emissions from over 180 mg/Nm³ to below 90 mg/Nm³ – without replacing the entire plant. That was the challenge at the 3M site in Hilden, Germany. The existing boiler system, equipped with SG-80 burners, had been in operation for more than 40 years and no longer met the requirements of the 44th BImSchV. Instead of installing a completely new system, the approach focused on targeted modernization: ✅ Optimization of the existing burner components ✅ Step-by-step evaluation of emission reduction potential ✅ Implementation of flue gas recirculation (FGR) The result: NOx emissions were reduced to well below the required limit – ensuring compliance and enabling continued operation of the existing system. What makes this project particularly relevant: It shows that even older installations can be adapted to current regulations with the right approach – often with significantly lower investment and effort. 👉 Read the full project here: https://lnkd.in/edvc4cNA
