You asked, and we delivered. Here’s a closer look at the Mannum to Adelaide Pipeline This 87-kilometre-long pipeline was the first built from the River Murray to service Adelaide. Operating since 1955, it supplies drinking water to homes and businesses in the Torrens Valley and Adelaide’s north eastern foothill suburbs via a water treatment plant at Anstey Hill, as well as to 6 reservoirs for storage. A section of the pipeline also features a beautiful 50-metre-long mural painted by artist Jack Fran, which pays homage to the area’s River Murray Dark Sky Reserve – one of 15 in the world and the only recognised dark sky reserve in Australia. We think it’s pretty out of this world. For more information on our water infrastructure across SA, visit sawater.com.au.
