We’ve kicked off yet another project to support housing growth, with work now underway to install new sewer mains that will service thousands of future homes in Onkaparinga Heights. The 1.3 kilometres of new underground sewer main range in size from 225 to 300 millimetres in diameter, and will be installed across 3 sections from our existing sewer network – connecting into Onkaparinga Heights underneath Main South Road. To ensure traffic keeps flowing up above, the pipes will be installed below Main South Road using a method known as microtunnelling – which involves creating a tunnel between either side of the road, before the pipes are pushed through the tunnel using a jacking system.
