This NAIDOC Week, we recognise the deep and enduring connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have to water and Country across South Australia. This knowledge has guided the care for these lands and waters – which our people live and work on – for tens of thousands of years. With this year’s theme ‘50 Years of Deadly’, we’re reminded that listening to Country and learning together shapes how we care for water now and into the future. Through our programs like Anangu Water Wisdom, we’re helping students to connect First Nations knowledge with science, learning and respecting how water moves through Country, and how it is understood, shared and protected.
