Just like a chocolate milkshake, only stinky… What you’re seeing is wastewater part way through the treatment process at our Bolivar Wastewater Treatment Plant. And if you live in Adelaide, whatever you flush down your toilet likely ends up here. Before it can be safely reused or returned to the environment, the wastewater goes through multiple stages: ·        screening to remove wipes and other debris ·        treatment to break down waste ·        separating solids from water. By the time it gets to this stage, everything that shouldn’t be in there has been removed. And it all starts with what you flush, so remember only to flush the 4 Ps.
