If you’ve visited our Hope Valley Reservoir Reserve lately, you may have noticed some changes. Earlier this year, we completed upgrades to the sites’ south-east corner, including the Lorikeet Loop. There’s a new sustainable stormwater design comprised of swales and basins, which contain rocks and native plants. This design will slow down the flow of stormwater from nearby Lower North East Road, helping to limit erosion and water entering the reservoir during high rainfall events. It also improves local habitat. What else is new? 🚴 a 1.2-kilometre shared-use trail for walking, running, and cycling 🛖 2 new shelters and benches offering stunning views across the reservoir 🚶‍♀️ upgraded fencing and a safe elevated platform to cross the reservoir inlet 🌱 2 hectares of native grass meadows now established and germinating, complemented by 1,300 tubestock plantings from earlier this year ⤵️ updated signage Further improvements are also on the way! These will focus on additional revegetation, scheduled to continue over the next few months.
