A lot has changed in the 42 years since Kev from our Metro Field Operations team started working at SA Water – including his hairstyle.   Scotland-born Kev, and his 'phenomenal network knowledge', remains an inspiration for his colleagues, including now that he will soon be retiring.   Kev's seen a lot of change since he started in 1984, from how our crews receive jobs (no more pagers!), to safety gear (singlets and footy shirts are definitely a uniform of the past) and witnessing much more physical work simplified by technology.   “It's a great career – you're outside, working independently and in a great environment,” he reflects.   “I've met a lot of good people and had a lot of good times.”   While everyone agrees Kev will remain an irreplaceable part of the team, a desire to enjoy life outside work means now is the right time for him to conclude a marathon career.   “It seems like a good time to hang up the boots.”   As retirement approaches, there's a lot on the horizon. He’s looking forward to travelling and is keen for fishing to make a comeback.   Thanks Kev, for all your hard work, lessons and stories over 4 decades!
