If startups pivot faster than governments can assess regulation, the regulation itself becomes a competitive disadvantage. 🇪🇺 One week ago at the D9+ Ministerial Meeting in Luxembourg, the S9+ Coalition brought a direct, raw founder’s perspective to Europe's digital ministers. As the Co-Founder of Tadaweb and President of our member PULSE — Luxembourg Startups Association, Genna Elvin delivered a powerful reality check on what it actually feels like to scale a company across Europe compared to the US. 👇 Watch the clip below where Genna breaks down three critical challenges: 🇺🇸 The 1 vs. 27 Market Reality: Building a tech startup in the US gives you immediate access to 240 million people. Scaling in Europe means navigating 27 different administrative processes. Europe doesn’t lack entrepreneurs; it lacks a friction-free market for them to grow in. 📈 Funding Built for Projects, Not Companies: European funding mechanisms are too often designed like rigid project grants. Startups are being forced to provide two-year roadmaps in an era where AI is evolving monthly and cyber threats change daily. ⏳ The Regulatory Speed Gap: While technology and security threats evolve at lightning speed, regulatory interpretations take years to adapt. To keep our best talent and innovation in Europe, government and policy frameworks must learn to adapt at a much faster pace. As Genna perfectly summarized: "We have so many talented individuals here in Europe, but we're losing so many of them to other startups that can move a lot faster." A huge thank you to the ministers and European Commission leaders in attendance for engaging so openly with this direct feedback from the ground. Now, let's build the framework to match our talent. #S9Plus #D9Plus #FounderPerspective #ScaleupFirst #EUInc #SingleMarket #Innovation #TechPolicy #Luxembourg Adigital & @EsTech, Startup Portugal, Scale-Ups.eu, Dutch Startup Association, Startup Poland, Estonian Founders Society, SISP – Swedish Incubators & Science Parks, Danske Iværksættere - Danish Entrepreneurs, Finnish Startup Community (FSC), Czech Startup Association, PULSE — Luxembourg Startups Association, House of Startups Luxembourg (HoST), Startup Slovenia, Scale Ireland
