At this week's Nexus Luxembourg event, our panel on “Building a Unified Digital Market for Startups” shared a clear, actionable vision for what it actually takes to transform Europe into a global tech powerhouse. The conversation brought together exceptional insights from Philippe Linster, CFA Linster (House of Startups Luxembourg (HoST), Tomáš Pospíšil (Czech Startup Association), and Genna Elvin (PULSE — Luxembourg Startups Association & Tadaweb). The core takeaway? Europe needs a strategic shift in its growth playbook. Here is what that looks like: ✨ The Europe Effect For too long, Europe has been defined by its ability to regulate (the Brussels Effect). It’s time to transition toward the Europe Effect - a reality where a European startup can build, raise, hire, sell, and exit from Europe at global speed. ⚖️ Simplification is not deregulation Startups aren't asking for a lack of oversight; they need policies that are simple, yet certain. Startup support should be viewed as a core competitiveness tool for the entire bloc, not a fragmented state-aid exception engineered on a country-by-country basis. 💸 Fixing the Capital Cycle We do not only need more grants. True global competitiveness requires supporting the entire capital lifecycle: seed, growth, exit, and reinvestment. 🛠️ The Infrastructure of Growth To scale, European tech needs scalable compute, open infrastructure, and choice. But we cannot forget that talent is infrastructure. Capital alone cannot scale a company if the team cannot be hired due to rigid, fragmented talent frameworks. With the D9+ Ministerial Meeting and the launch of the S9+ Luxembourg Declaration this week, the foundation has been laid. Now, it's about turning these exact principles into reality. Thank you to our brilliant panelists for outlining such a compelling path forward for a competitive, unified, and startup-first Europe! #Nexus2026 #S9Plus #EuropeEffect #SingleMarket #EUInc #Innovation #Startups #Scaleups #DigitalEurope #Luxembourg House of Startups Luxembourg (HoST), PULSE — Luxembourg Startups Association, Startup Poland, Startup Portugal, Scale-Ups.eu, Dutch Startup Association, Finnish Startup Community (FSC), Czech Startup Association, Estonian Founders Society, SISP – Swedish Incubators & Science Parks, Danske Iværksættere - Danish Entrepreneurs, Startup Slovenia, Scale Ireland, Adigital, @EsTech
