Celebrating 10 Years of SL Recycling 🎉 This year marks a major milestone for us – 10 years in business. What started as a vision has grown into one of South Wales’ leading independently owned scrap metal operations. Back in 2016, our Director, Stacey Lewis, took a bold step—purchasing a derelict plot of land in Ystrad Mynach. With nothing more than determination, concrete, and a small setup consisting of a grab, forklift, and shear, SL Recycling was born. It didn’t take long before we outgrew that first yard. By 2020, we expanded to a second site—an impressive 7-acre facility—and soon after invested in our first scrap metal shredder, transforming the scale and capability of the business. This growth led to multiple fast growth business awards and firmly positioned us within the industry. Fast forward to last year, and we reached another major milestone: We installed our second shredder, transitioning to electric power and significantly increasing our processing capacity. Today, we are proud to be processing over 1,600 tonnes of scrap metal per week—a reflection of how far we’ve come in such a short space of time.
