During my time at Salesforce, I was part of the Network Infrastructure & Core Maintenance (NICM) team — great hands-on exposure to networking in a real production environment. But here's the thing: outside of Salesforce, that acronym means nothing to most employers. "NICM" doesn't translate on a resume or in an interview the way "networking fundamentals" does. So I recently completed Networking Foundations: Networking Basics with Kevin Wallace Training, LLC on LinkedIn Learning. It served two purposes: ▪ A refresher — stretching muscles I hadn't used in a while and reinforcing concepts I'd learned through hands-on work but never formalized ▪ A translation layer — giving me the vocabulary and framework to talk about that experience in terms that make sense to anyone, not just people who know what NICM stands for Sometimes upskilling isn't about learning something brand new — it's about putting a name and structure to what you already know how to do, so you can actually communicate it. Small investment, real payoff. #Networking #ITSupport #ContinuousLearning #CareerDevelopment #LinkedInLearning
