Netflix spends $17 billion a year on content. A typical episode costs $10 million. That’s $200,000 per minute. Or $3,300 per second. Last night I put one on. Then immediately opened my phone. Scrolled for 12 minutes. That’s $2.4 million of television I didn't see. Got up for a drink. Another 3 minutes. That's $600,000. Bathroom break. Call it 5 minutes. That’s $1 million down the drain. At this point Netflix isn’t entertainment. It’s expensive background noise. Anyway, if anyone needs me, I’ll be converting premium content into background noise at $3,300 per second.
