Meet Björn-Henrik Blöcker, SCADA Engineer at RWE, who is currently working on two of our offshore wind projects: Nordseecluster and Windbostel. SCADA stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. In practice, this means Björn is one of the people making sure the control systems that run a wind farm actually do what they're supposed to – controlling turbines and substations, delivering live data from thousands of sensors, and allowing for 24/7 remote monitoring access. It's the kind of role where the work is invisible when it's going well. And critical when it isn't. With Nordseecluster alone set to deliver 1.6 GW once complete, the systems behind that capacity matter as much as the turbines themselves.
