Earlier this year, our researchers helped uncover evidence that mouth bacteria may actively worsen liver scarring in cirrhosis. Now, a major new review in the Journal of Hepatology suggests those findings may be part of something much bigger: the emergence of an entirely new field of liver research, with major implications for patient care.
