I just gave a seminar for the Laser segment team at Coherent Corp. on our work at imec in the design of external cavity diode lasers (ECDLs) on the iSiPP silicon photonics platform. These hybrid integrated lasers are being developed for use in next-generation FMCW LiDAR systems — pushing the boundaries of compactness, tunability, and coherence for advanced distance sensing applications in autonomous driving.
