Istituto Marangoni Paris 2026 “Apostolos Kalfopoulos”. Story by Kate Granger, Editor of RUNWAY MAGAZINE: https://lnkd.in/ehc8Dxcg Istituto Marangoni Paris celebrated its 20th anniversary with Crafting Futures, a graduate show at the Hôtel de Galliffet featuring ten international designers. The runway highlighted a "soft creative revolution," balancing traditional craftsmanship against the rise of artificial intelligence through sharp, structural experimentation. Key Highlights: Architectural Tailoring: Traditional silhouettes were subverted into sculptural forms, including a monolithic grey wool ensemble with cascading fringe and a fluid pastel-pink look featuring an upside-down jacket integrated at the waist. Industrial Armor: The tension between organic texture and rigid logic was explored through a moss-green wool coat paired with geometric, numbered rings, and a blocky grey felt outfit that encased the body in architectural beams. Deconstructed Heritage: Designers used witty pastiche to challenge classic archetypes, such as pairing a military-toggle black sweater with an asymmetric cream miniskirt and a utilitarian waist-pouch holding paintbrushes. Cultural Hybridization: The collections functioned as a global creative atlas, turning regional histories into modern design—climaxing in looks like a raw linen ensemble contrasted against a sharp, protective leather corset-belt. The presentation proved that the next generation of talent is redefining the future of fashion by critically deconstructing visual culture and fusing heritage with forward-looking design languages.
