One of my core objectives at Remitly has been simple but ambitious: embed our brand in the heart of African diaspora culture, not just in our media plans. That’s why I’m especially proud of a new initiative I’ve been driving - our partnership with Amplify Africa Inc., which has led to the creation of Remitly House: a distinct cultural engagement platform we’re piloting in North America. Remitly House is designed as more than an event space. It is: 1. A home for diaspora stories, identity and pride 2. A bridge between culture shapers and the communities they represent 3. A living expression of our brand promise to show up where our customers actually live, celebrate and dream Recently, this vision came to life in a powerful way in Houston, where we hosted Afrobeat superstar Adekunle Gold at Remitly House for an intimate listening experience for his new album “Fuji.” 🎶 Seeing fans, creators, and community leaders connect so deeply with both the music and the Remitly story reinforced something for me: If you want to serve the diaspora, you can’t just speak to them you have to stand with them in the culture they are creating. This is just the beginning of what we’re building with Remitly House, and I’m incredibly excited about the collaborations and community moments still to come.
