Protecting more than one million people from flooding requires reliable infrastructure. Ruhrpumpen supplied eight 54RXL single-stage pumps in record time for a pumping station project in the State of Mexico. Last week, the hoisting of the first pump onto the pipeline marked an important project milestone, the first of eight pumps to be installed. The installation will play a key role in helping prevent flooding in the eastern region of the Valley of Mexico, strengthening water management capabilities and supporting the protection of surrounding communities. Each pump is driven by a 1,200 HP diesel engine operating at 1,800 rpm, and together the units can evacuate up to 16,000 liters of water per second during critical conditions.
