Cultural heritage management and economics - cultural entrepreneurship - participatory design
Dr Marlen Komorowski and Ruba Saleh's new editorial in Frontiers in Communication argues that Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) should not be treated as peripheral beneficiaries of the EU’s triple transition. Instead, they are active co-creators of the values, skills, open innovation, and social capabilities needed to make the triple transition succeed! Several insights stood out 💡 👉Recognition is not enough. While culture is frequently celebrated in policy narratives, CCIs often remain underrepresented in funding, governance, and decision-making structures. 👉Social justice and cultural capability are prerequisites, not outcomes. Sustainable transformation requires investing in people, communities, and creative capacity from the start not as an afterthought. 👉Place matters. Many of the most innovative and regenerative cultural practices emerge in non-urban and local contexts, yet they are often overlooked by mainstream policy frameworks. 👉Skills are the new infrastructure. As AI, digitization, and platformization reshape creative work, continuous learning and institutional capacity-building become critical. Congratulations to the 9 contributors 👏 and many thanks to the reviewers and the editorial team 🙏A special shout-out to Damiano La Manna, PhD for his invaluable support over the past couple of years, combining outstanding professionalism with remarkable kindness and humanity 🙏 The editorial is available here: https://lnkd.in/egnVHJxb #CCIs #TripleTransition #Skills #PactForSkills #NonUrbanAreas #OpenInnovation #AI #EUPolicy #SocialCapability #CultureMatters Dr Marlen Komorowski, Valentina Apicerni, Francesca Nicolais, francesca cocco, Antonia Gravagnuolo Massimiliano Raffa Nancy Duxbury, Sílvia Silva, Anna Hildur Hildibrandsdottir, Leandro Valiati, Gustavo Möller, Aliya Turegeldinova, Bakytzhan Amralinova, Máté Miklós Fodor, Akerkin Eraliyeva, PhD, Chen Dayou, Aidos Joldassov, Mikk Granström, Marge Liiske, Triin Tramberg, Tiina Lokk, Eva De Smedt, Isabelle De Voldere, Andy C Pratt, Ruba Saleh
