I resigned from Meta the day after the layoffs. The Meta today is unrecognizable from the Meta I joined just 2 years ago. The worst part for me was the death march toward layoff day. In my org, teams were given impossible deadlines which just happened to be a few days before the big layoff. People worked evenings and weekends to hit their goals in hopes it would save their jobs... It didn't. I woke up early last Wednesday to check which of my teammates had survived. So many of the people working evenings and weekends to hit the made up deadline were laid off. Maybe it was just a coincidence. Either way, this was one of many reasons why I decided to leave Meta last week. To all the amazing people I got to work with at Meta - thank you!
