Dear Friends - This letter is meant to let you know what is happening and likely will happen, in different forms with arrival of Superintelligence unless we get involved to shape it, make it a human technology. 👉 I do not wish for you to read this for me to get "impressions" or "profile views." Instead, bring your attention to the problems this letter contains. Focus on the care for others poured into this. I believe this care, not mine, but yours and everyones will create the kind of actions we need. Do not wait Exerpt: "We knew this was coming. That is the unbearable part. We knew. The researchers knew. The companies knew. Anthropic knew. OpenAI knew. DeepMind knew. The policy makers who smiled through hearings and signed no legislation—they knew. The venture capitalists who poured billions into acceleration while funding pennies for alignment—they knew. We all participated in a collective hallucination that someone else would solve it, that the market would self-correct, that intelligence could be made safe by the same incentive structures that made it dangerous. I want you to understand: the failure was not technical. We had brilliant people working on alignment. The failure was moral. It was a failure of nerve, of will, of the basic human capacity to act on what we know to be true. We treated existential risk like a branding problem. We wrote safety papers and then shipped the very systems those papers warned against. We created “responsible AI” departments and then overruled them when they slowed the product roadmap."
