Today is Thank a First Responder Day, and we're recognising all first responders who step forward when others need help most. While RSPCA Victoria Inspectors are not currently recognised as first responders, they're on the frontline 365 days of the year, rescuing and protecting animals from cruelty and neglect. They're often the first in attendance at difficult and traumatic animal welfare situations, frequently visit properties covered in rubbish, vermin and pests, with one in four investigations involving a violent person of interest. Their roles are complex and difficult, but we know how skilled and dedicated our Inspectors are. Today is not only a time to recognise how important their work is, but also the impact it has on not only them, but their families as well. Thank you to all our amazing Inspectors and first responders 💖
