Did you know that southwest Saudi Arabia is home to some of the most diverse habitats in the region, ranging from mist-covered juniper forests and deep wadis to mangroves, wetlands and offshore islands? In our latest employee experience article, ‘’Exploring Saudi Arabia’s biodiversity: A journey through the Southwest’’, Asma Hussein, a Saudi national and member of RSK Middle East's terrestrial biodiversity team, shares her journey across the Asir and Jazan regions on an Arabian Endemics birding tour. Over nine days, the group recorded 183 species while exploring the remarkable landscapes and ecosystems that support Saudi Arabia's rich biodiversity 🏔️ From spotting the Asir magpie, the Kingdom's only endemic bird species, to observing wildlife across the Farasan Islands and Red Sea coastline, the experience offered valuable insights into habitat diversity, species distribution and the importance of biodiversity monitoring. 📸 The photos featured in this post are just a small selection of the species encountered along the way.
