🎉 Announcing the 2026/27 William Guy Lecturers   We’re delighted to introduce this year’s William Guy Lecturers, who will be engaging students across the UK on a theme that has never been more important: the role of statistical thinking in combating misinformation. The William Guy Lectures play a vital role in inspiring young people to think critically about data, helping them navigate an increasingly complex information landscape and understand the real-world impact of statistics. This year’s outstanding lecturers are: Dr Takoua Jendoubi (UCL) – Seeing isn’t believing: how to navigate deepfakes and algorithms (ages 11–14)   Dr Jonathan Davies (DWP) – Lies, damned lies, and statistics (ages 15–16)   Professor Tom Crick MBE (University of Bristol / DCMS) – Can you trust the numbers? Statistics, misinformation and the information ecosystem (ages 16+)   Together, they will explore how data can be misinterpreted or misused—and how statistical thinking empowers us to question, understand and make better decisions. 📅 Lectures will be available to book from 1 August 2026, with recordings accessible online from the start of the academic year. 🔗 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eqAfPJ9j  #Statistics #DataScience #Education #Misinformation #STEM
