We were pleased to welcome Professor John Laffey at the Royal Irish Academy this evening to sign the Members’ Roll Book. Professor Laffey is professor of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at the School of Medicine of the University of Galway, where he is also director of clinical research. His research is centred on acute respiratory distress syndrome and sepsis, with a major focus on the therapeutic potential of cell therapies and the effects of carbon dioxide in the critically ill. Professor Laffey was elected a member of the Royal Irish Academy in 2023.
