'Ag ceiliúradh 30 bliain de Translating Ireland' | 'Celebrating 30 Years of Translating Ireland' I gcomhar le University of Notre Dame Dublin táimid ag ceiliúradh shaothar ceannródaíoch Michael Cronin, a léirigh ról lárnach an aistriúcháin i bhforbairt teanga, litríochta agus féiniúlachta in Éirinn. We are delighted to partner with Notre Dame Dublin to mark the 30th anniversary of the publication of 'Translating Ireland' by Michael Cronin – a landmark work that transformed understanding of translation’s role in shaping Irish culture, identity, and political life. Cronin’s volume highlighted translation as both a weapon of political propaganda and a catalyst for cultural renewal, bringing long-overdue attention to the vital contributions of translators throughout Irish history. Our upcoming conference revisits this influential work and explores the evolving role of translation and translators in contemporary Ireland.
