RFDS Victoria is currently conducting a pilot of Virtual Care Pods in Swifts Creek, one of Victoria’s most remote communities in East Gippsland. Designed to strengthen access to care where distance, isolation and emergencies can disrupt services, the pod reflects our commitment to testing new, practical solutions that help communities stay connected to healthcare.    The Care Pod provides 24/7 access to virtual medical consultations and essential diagnostic checks, supporting people to get the right care at the right time, close to home. For remote towns with no local GP or pharmacy, this is about equity of access to care.    This initiative is delivered in partnership with the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED), Omeo District Health, and the Swifts Creek Bush Nursing Centre, with technology provided by CareZen. Together, we're combining local knowledge, clinical expertise and innovation to close the health care gap.    Innovation has always been part of the Flying Doctor's DNA and this is another way we are going above to support isolated communities.
