It was an honour to be selected by Queensland Gives as the charity partner for the 2026 Queensland Philanthropy Awards on Friday. The event was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the lifesaving work of the Flying Doctor — from our RFDS aircraft centrepieces on every table to inviting attendees to support the Queensland Community Foundation RFDS (Queensland Section) Sub‑Fund through the event raffle. We were also thrilled to celebrate our Principal Partner, QCoal Foundation, who was nominated in the Foundation category and named a finalist in the Innovation category. This recognition highlights the real impact of their support — especially through our RFDS Aeromedical Training Academy in Bundaberg, which is strengthening our aeromedical capability and creating sustainable revenue to help keep the Flying Doctor flying. A huge thank you to RFDS Ambassador Ben Dobbin for serving as one of the event MCs and sharing his personal connection to the RFDS.
