We are deeply saddened to hear of the recent loss of Peter Raven, one of the most influential scientific leaders and conservationists of our times. He elevated Missouri Botanical Garden to the global stage, brought plants to the conservation world and trained a whole generation of students and professionals. We are particularly thankful for his collaboration and for his long-standing support for Kew, a relationship which has continued through the many joint programmes of work supported by his successors.
