Kew Wakehurst's landscape is a living laboratory, and in summer the meadows are buzzing with scientific activity πŸπŸ” We're investigating the effect of heatwaves on bumblebees, and have placed bioacoustics monitors in Coronation Meadow, Hanging Meadow and Bloomers Valley - all the way from the hedgerows at the edge to the suntraps in the centre β˜€οΈ These monitors count bees by the sound of their buzz, and will help our scientists discover whether bees prefer to forage in the shadier edges on sunnier days! Stop by our meadows before the end of summer to see the research in action. #BeesNeedsWeek
