To bundle, or not to bundle? That was the question at the heart of our panel "Drug & Digital Synergisms" at BioCap Europe 2026 in Berlin. Drugs and digital are increasingly working together - and not just as digital supporting a molecule. Increasingly, each brings its own mode of action. That raises a sharper question: when does 1 + 1 > 2, and does our system actually reward the synergy when it does? We mapped the full spectrum - from digital that simply supports a drug (adherence, monitoring), through optimisation and complementary action, to true synergistic interaction where two entities converge on a single outcome. And we landed on the elephant in the room: companion diagnostics already have a cross-label bridge under IVDR. For therapeutically active software, Europe has no equivalent path. The clinical value can be real - but today the route to capture it often isn't there. Thank you to our excellent panel for a genuinely open debate: Prof. Christian Dierks (Dierks & Co.), Hans-Holger Bleß (fbeta), Univ.-Prof. Dr. Matthias P. Schönermark (Kintiga) …and to our co-moderators Dr. Anja Kassner (Rox Health) and Dr. Markus A. Dahlem (Medice). We were proud to co-host this session together with Medice. The conversation is far from over. If you're building at the drug × digital interface, we'd love to continue it. Do reach out to Dr. Nikos Green if you want to engage in this topic. #DigitalHealth #DTx #DrugDevelopment #HealthcareInnovation #MarketAccess #BioCapEurope #RoXHealth #Medice
