Growing up, her response to every single moment in my life...the failures, the wins, the big decisions, the small panics was always the same one word. ๐ณ๐. New job? ๐ณ๐.Crying over an exam? ๐ณ๐. Her daughter standing in Korea wearing a Hanbok that took three people and forty minutes to put on correctly? ๐ณ๐. And straight back to her dhaal. She already knew what I keep having to relearn. The things worth doing cannot be rushed, and the people who understand that earliest are the ones who build something that lasts. Every fold of this Hanbok was deliberate, every colour carrying centuries of meaning. Red for passion, blue for trust, white for sincerity. The women dressing me kept gently moving my hands away every time I tried to help. Just let it be done properly. I work with school leaders across Asia who are under enormous pressure to move fast on AI. This week, before the next board meeting, before they fall behind some invisible benchmark that keeps shifting. And I understand that pressure deeply, because I have felt it myself. But standing in that room, very still, trusting a process I did not fully understand, I kept thinking about the schools that will actually lead in this moment. They will not be the ones that moved fastest. They will be the ones that slowed down long enough to ask the questions that actually matter. Who are we? What do we believe learning is for? What kind of school do we want to be, not just what tools do we want to use? Those questions cannot be answered in a workshop or a policy document. They need the kind of leadership that knows how to be still before it moves. เจเฉเฉเจนเจฆเฉ เจเจฒเจพ (Chardi Kala) My mother understood it as dhaal on the stove and one quiet word. I am still learning it. What is your school rushing right now that deserves more patience? #SchoolLeadership #AIinEducation #EducationIntelligence #Leadership #Singapore #Hanbok #ํ๋ณต
