It is particularly rewarding to witness the professional growth of former students and to see them, years later, contributing with competence and commitment to the education of new generations. I followed with great interest the lecture delivered at the University of Naples Federico II - Department DEMI | UniNa of Economics, Management and Institutions, where Pasquale Ferricelli, whose graduation thesis I had the privilege to supervise, together with Camilla Ricci and Roberto Figliolini, addressed the emerging challenges facing the banking sector, including the so-called “unknown unknowns”, and discussed the possible evolution of European banking regulation and supervisory frameworks. The active participation of students and the quality of the debate highlighted once again the value of a continuous and structured dialogue between academic training, regulatory thinking, and professional practice. My sincere thanks to all colleagues, Domenico Curcio and Serena Gallo, and presenters from Intesa Sanpaolo involved for fostering such a rigorous and forward-looking academic environment. #AcademicMentorship #Banking #FinancialRegulation #Supervision #RiskManagement #EuropeanBanking #HigherEducation #UniversityOfNaplesFedericoII
