The next AI frontier isn't a better model. It's better inputs. Everyone's debating which LLM to use. GPT vs Claude vs Gemini. Benchmarks, pricing, context windows. Meanwhile the teams actually pulling ahead are focused on something less glamorous: what they feed the model, and how. Context engineering is becoming its own discipline. It's the work of deciding what information goes into a prompt, in what format, retrieved from where, filtered how. It sounds simple. It isn't. A well-engineered context can make a mediocre model perform like a great one. A poorly engineered context makes a great model useless. The model doesn't know what it doesn't know, it only works with what you give it. Most teams are still treating context as an afterthought. The ones treating it as a core engineering problem are building products that are faster, more accurate, and significantly harder to replicate. The moat isn't the model. It never was. #AI #Engineering #ProductEngineering #Rootstrap
