Manager - Leadership Training and Organisational Development

People don't quit because of workload. They quit because they have no one they enjoy working with. Our Wipro training team in Mumbai has been running at full speed. Back-to-back new hire batches. Upskilling sessions. Client calls. Reviews. Planning. Coaching. The workload has been intense. So we decided to hit pause for one thing a leg piece biryani treat. And yes... the biryani was absolutely yummy!🍗🍛 What started as a lunch quickly turned into one of the best team moments we've had. There were jokes, endless laughter, fun conversations, and stories that had everyone smiling. Along the way, we also exchanged ideas, discussed best practices, and learned from each other's experiences. It reminded me of something important. The same workload can either drain you or energize you. The difference is the people around you. Many organizations spend millions on employee engagement initiatives while ignoring the biggest engagement factor: A toxic manager or a toxic team can destroy motivation faster than any heavy workload. I've seen people willingly stay late because they genuinely enjoy working with their team. I've also seen people watch the clock every five minutes not because the work was difficult, but because the environment was. The irony? Companies often ask, Why do people keep leaving? Maybe the better question is, Why would talented people stay if the culture makes every day feel exhausting? For me, I will always choose a workplace filled with respect, laughter, positive vibes, great teammates, meaningful conversations, and yes... a delicious plate of biryani over a prestigious title in a toxic environment. Because at the end of the day, people may forget the meeting agenda, but they'll always remember how their team made them feel. Do you agree? Would you rather have a high-paying job in a toxic culture, or a workplace where people genuinely enjoy working together? #emotionalintelligence #learning #training #hr #hiring #jobseekers #management #leadership #coaching #toxic
