Supporting the next generation of clean energy talent   Rolls-Royce SMR recently welcomed the winning team from Budapest University of Technology and Economics to our Manchester headquarters, following their success in the Central Europe SMR Challenge.   Supported by the British Embassy Budapest, the challenge invited students to explore how a Rolls-Royce SMR could be developed and deployed in Central Europe, with a focus on Hungary. From technology and regulation to financing models and public engagement, the quality and depth of work was exceptional.   Congratulations to Core Nuclear, who impressed judges with their fictional energy company Dievas Energy and the vision “Bringing energy closer to you.” Delivered alongside university exams, their work stood out across every discipline.   During their visit, the team met senior leaders, discussed future career opportunities, presented their project, and toured the AMRC Factory 2050 - seeing first-hand how modularisation will transform nuclear delivery.   Alan Woods, Strategy & Business Development Director at Rolls-Royce SMR, said: “Our work with universities signals our intent to invest in future skills needed to design, build and operate SMRs - helping deliver clean, affordable energy for all.”   A brilliant example of international collaboration, education and innovation supporting the global transition to low‑carbon energy.   #SMR #CleanEnergy #FutureTalent #Nuclear #InternationalCollaboration #SocialValue
