Every three months or so, I have a blast opening boxes of the latest issue of Developing Leaders Quarterly, hot from the press. This one is about 🔸Enabling Governance🔸 – and the ambiguous meaning is intentional. Organizations need governance that enables them to be agile, flexible, innovative, and sustainable (both economically and ecologically). And as leadership can’t be effective without followership (the topic of a previous DLQ issue), structures, processes, and culture need to be designed in a way that they enable good governance. This time, I had the pleasure of going beyond my publishing/editorial role and contributing an article myself. It discusses how to 🔸Adapt Corporate Governance for Ecosystem Participation🔸. It’s an unavoidable conundrum: While corporate governance is largely determined by pre-existing frameworks of business law, business ecosystems lack a pre-existing legal framework. Here, governance is a messy affair, often driven by blind power dynamics. To mitigate the dynamics of these different contexts, organizations must evolve by developing the capability to operate in both. A fascinating challenge, and an important part of a company’s business ecosystem leadership skills. You’ll find a link to this article here: https://lnkd.in/gVkJNDsj. It’s behind a very reasonable paywall (we have no advertising) – 3 bucks for getting 3 months unlimited access to all 47 (!) issues of Developing Leaders Quarterly. Check it out and let me know your thoughts. #governance #leadership #ecosystem #agile #organization #innovation #sustainability #culture #strategy Matthias Reuter Thomas Kirste Michael Sinz Thomas Scherzberg Adnan Chaudhry Azita Arvani, Stanford Sloan Fellow Michele LeSueur, DBA Martin Stöckl Brian Underhill, Ph.D., PCC Dr. Carsten Linz Dr. Nandani Lynton Tim Holt Gottfried Haber Dr. Virginia Bastian Toni Schoenenberger Fabian Huhle Dorothee Helbig Joern Barth Claudia Rautenberg Steven Moran Dr. Janin Schwartau Dietrich Firnhaber Wolfgang H.
