My first FIFAe World Cup Finals - thanks for this wonderful afternoon. It was a great show, perfectly staged, and the two finals really caught my attention. #Thailand beat #Brazil (mobile) and #Poland beat #Italy (console). For a die-hard ‘old-school football fan’ like me, the players' performances were impressive. Hats off to them! And a big thank you to Christian Volk and his FIFA team as well as Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan & his team from the Saudi Esports Federation! Congratulations! In my opinion, the ‘surroundings’ with lots of activation areas from sponsors and partners also fully reached the target audience. The VIP area was ‘top notch’, but that's ‘standard practice’ in Arab countries anyway...;-) Of course, there were a few minor things to learn from, but all in all, I see a great future for this format, too! The sport will continue to change – I believe in mutual complementarity rather than cannibalisation, i.e. football has its place and the new formats of football (whether FIFA #eFootball, Kings League or ICONS T20 LEAGUE) have enough space to coexist successfully. Das waren für einen eingefleischten "Oldschool-Fußballfan" wie mich beeindruckende Leistungen, die die Spieler ablieferten. Chapeau! Und ein Dankeschön an den Verantwortlichen Christian Volk & Team, ebenso wie Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan mit seinem Team der Saudi Esports Federation! Auch das "drumherum" mit vielen Aktivierungsflächen von Sponsoren und Partnern, haben meines Erachtens die Zielgruppe voll erreicht. Der VIP-Bereich "erste Sahne", aber das ist in den arabischen Ländern eh "Usus". Natürlich gab es auch ein paar Kleinigkeiten aus denen man lernen wird, aber alles in allem sehe ich auch für dieses Format eine große Zukunft! Der Sport wird sich weiter verändern - ich glaube an eine gegenseitige Ergänzung und nicht an eine Kannibalisierung, d.h. der Fußball hat seinen Platz und die neuen Formate des Fußballs (egal ob FIFA #eFootball, Kings League oder ICONS T20 LEAGUE) genug Platz um parallel erfolgreich stattzufinden.
