Most people tell First Year students to "𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀." I took a different route. While tackling my Engineering syllabus and learning C++ from scratch , I also took on the responsibility of being a Google 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿. (And yes, I was also juggling duties for the IIT Bombay E-Cell and GFG) . Was it chaotic? Yes. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Here is the truth about building a personal brand early: 𝟭. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴. No textbook taught me how to manage a community or organize events. I had to figure it out on the fly. 𝟮. 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. Connecting with students across India opened my mind way more than sitting in a classroom ever could. 𝟯. 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. If you aren't slightly overwhelmed, you probably aren't growing fast enough. Grateful to the PING Network and Google team for this opportunity.
