The component is scanned and reliably identified using its unique, in-material fingerprint. This is one of the emerging technologies for digital product labeling. Results at a glance: • Precise identification: the unique fingerprint enables unambiguous traceability of each product • Reliable product authentication: robust protection against counterfeiting with mobile authenticity checks by the user • Potential for improved recycling: markers can support material sorting and more efficient recovery of plastic components This use case shows how digital product labeling can be implemented directly within the material – without affecting product design or performance.
