Circularity in healthcare – from concept to practice. 🌱 Earlier this month, our colleague Lisanne Klink, Innovation Manager at Röchling Medical, had the opportunity to speak at the Open Innovation Day "Circular Health: Innovation for Sustainable Healthcare" at Klinikum Stuttgart. She presented our Sustainable Trocar use case – a single-use medical device redesigned from the ground up based on Design for Sustainability principles. The result: 32% less material, fewer components, easier disassembly, more recyclable materials and a 51% reduction in global warming potential compared to a conventional trocar. A project we're genuinely proud of, and one that always resonates well in sustainability discussions. The event made clear how much momentum there is behind circular thinking in healthcare right now – not as an add-on, but as a real design principle with measurable impact. Thank you to BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg GmbH and Klinikum Stuttgart for creating this kind of space for open exchange. And thank you to Lisanne for representing us so well. 👏
