This is what a properly atomised spray pattern looks like. Two offline washes can use the exact same detergent and still produce different results, because the nozzle decides how that detergent actually reaches the fouling. During an offline wash, the turbine is shut down, cooled, and cranked at low speed while cleaning solution is injected and left to soak, followed by rinse cycles until conductivity levels are back where they should be. Nozzle design affects nearly every stage of that process: spray pattern, droplet size, blade coverage, flow rate, and how many rinse cycles it takes to finish. One customer running two GE7FA units completed a full offline wash and had both turbines back in service in around five hours using a Rochem offline system. In a separate case study at Calpine Westbrook, switching from an OEM system to Rochem's reduced offline cleaning time by 70 minutes and cut water use by more than 1,100 gallons on one turbine and around 1,846 gallons on the other.
